Houston, TX – February 24, 2011 – The Enpro Group, a leader in the advanced laminates and creative window solutions industry for over 30 years, has announced that they have been given clearance from the National Hockey League (NHL) to supply their patent-pending HockeyShield® acrylic shielding products to NHL arenas.
“The brand development process for HockeyShield® has been pretty thorough”, said Chris Weinhardt, Vice President of Marketing. “It is exciting to approach a new market with a superior, innovative solution.”
HockeyShield® is a thin transparent film that is applied to acrylic surfaces. The film is designed to increase the longevity of the acrylic shielding units by absorbing scratches and burns caused by sticks, helmets, and skates during game action. Its proprietary scratch-resistant coating also reduces maintenance requirements. HockeyShield® can be stacked in layers so that when one layer is damaged it can be easily removed to expose a brand new and optically clear view.
“Our test market facilities have been very impressed with the performance of HockeyShield®,” said Corey Kaeser, Sales Director. “Gaining NHL clearance was a great achievement and the interest level from arenas has been outstanding.”
